Like ourselves, they believe there’s real value in being able to speak to somebody locally rather than dealing with a large, faceless national organisation.
EcoSheffield’s focus is on making high-quality renewable energy more accessible and affordable while maintaining the standards and customer service you’d expect from a specialist installer.
Their work has also received regional recognition, with EcoSheffield being Commended for Solar PV Installer and Contractor of the Year at the 2026 Yorkshire & Humberside Energy Efficiency Awards.
Access to some of the biggest names in renewable energy
The partnership also gives IEW customers access to renewable technologies that aren’t necessarily available to every electrical contractor.
EcoSheffield is a Tesla Energy Certified Installer, providing installations of products including the Tesla Powerwall 3, as well as being a Gold Certified Installer of AlphaESS UK battery storage products.
This means an electrician working with IEW can potentially offer their customer a much broader solution without needing to become a specialist solar and battery installer themselves.
For example, an electrician carrying out a full rewire as part of a home renovation could continue looking after the electrical works they’re already responsible for, while EcoSheffield works alongside them to design and install the solar PV and battery storage system.
The homeowner gets one joined-up solution, the electrician can offer more to their customer, and the specialist renewable elements are handled by an experienced and appropriately accredited team.
Most importantly, the customer remains in the hands of trusted local businesses.
Working together, not competing
We think this is an important part of the partnership.
EcoSheffield isn’t there to replace the relationship between IEW’s trade customers and their customers.
It’s about working alongside local electricians.
Renewable technology is becoming an increasingly important part of the electrical industry, but not every electrician wants to invest the time, training and resources required to design and deliver complete solar and battery storage installations.
They shouldn’t have to miss out on those opportunities because of that.

An electrician can continue carrying out the work they specialise in, while having a renewable energy company they know they can confidently recommend when a project requires additional expertise.

The partnership is also about education.
